   Kriangkrai Kongkhanun was born in 1980 & graduated with a Masters degree from Silpakorn University in Thailand. He attempts to characterize the dark thoughts & emotions of humans whose minds are seized by sin as described in different legends & ancient Buddhist scriptures. Kriangkrai's art depicts the abstract concepts of hatred, anger, vengeance, greed & jealousy, his Neo-Primitive designs symbolize the karma of humanity.

   Katreeya English (แคทรียา อิงลิช) is a half Thai/half British singer, actress, model & acrobat.

   My fav Kat Lakorn (ละคร) is Faad Na Ya (แฝดนะยะ) with Por Tridsadee Sahawong (Ch.3 2010). As the title indicates, she plays twins named Bang & Baang, the girl is a tomboy who practices Muay Thai, the boy is a ladyboy who dreams of winning a beauty contest.

   It's lots of fun & adds lots of twists to the typical Lakorn plots because of the subject matter.

   Kat will be in a new Lakorn - Sao Noi Cafe. If the name sounds familiar, it's because this is a remake of an old Lakorn which Kat starred in & performed on the soundtrack.

    Thailand was first introduced to YaDech in Duang Jai Akkanee (Akkanee's Heart) part 2 of Ch3's epic 4 part Drama  4 Hua Jai Haeng Khun Khao.

   Yaya was just a teenager & the lakorn was a sweet Romeo & Juliet story. Fai's (Nadech) family had a big farm  & Jeed's (Yaya) family owned a nearby dairy farm. Jeed's father was a hothead who hated Fai's father for taking the woman he loved, Fai's mother. Jeed's brother was a wild bully always looking for trouble.

   They starred together in couple other lakorns, Game Rai Game Rak & Torranee Ni Nee Krai Krong, but couldn't really recapture the magic of Duang Jai Akkanee.

   They've been working on a new lakorn called Roy Fun Tawan Deard (รอยฝันตะวันเดือ - The Rising Sun). It is an epic 2 part historical drama set in pre-WWI Japan. Mario Maurer will star in pt 1 & 'YaBarry' in pt2.
   I believe it will air this summer on Ch 3.   (I can't wait!)

   This is a great short doc. It really captures the beauty & mystery of Thailand.  

   Thailand is a very superstitious country where the majority of ppl outside of Bangkok believe in ghosts. Tattoos are very popular w/ Thais especially these religious/magical tats.

   "Wat Bang Phra Temple is Mecca for traditional Buddhist tattoos, or "Sak Yant", as they are known in Thailand. Here monks tattoo people year round within the temple grounds and then once a year hold a Sak Yant festival during which those who have received tattoos return to pray and allow their tattoos to manifest themselves fully.    Thai Buddhism is very different than in Korea or Japan. Here, it's not rare for monks to have tattoos or eat meat (although they don't actively seek it out, if something w/ meat is donated they won't waste it).
