Rian Gonzales (aka Rianbowart) is a Freelance Illustrator from the Philippines who is known for her infectiously exuberant, candy-themed pieces. Most of her art depicts women in trendy fashion, delectable sweets & neon colors created using markers, colored pencils, watercolor & lots of glitter. She has done cover work for international comic companies such as Marvel, Archie Comics (Betty & Veronica , Josie & the Pussycats), IDW Publishing (Jem & the Holograms), etc. She often attends various international artistic conventions, such as Comic Cons where you can buy her prints or commission original signed drawings.

I'm a huge fan of RianBow because her art exudes positivity, fun & innocence. These qualities in no way diminish her skill which she continues to evolve & perfect. Take a close look at her colorful shading & exquisite contouring especially on clothing. She seemlessly blends several bright colors while also adding playful accessories & accents which reveal character & add visual interest. Another unique strength, is Rian's backgrounds which are also bright & filled with multiple colors & designs, but never outshine her subjects.

All of her exceptional abilities create the feeling of a sweet, young, extremely talented high school student doodling in her sketchbook. This accessibility to her art is what I love about the entire Low-Brow movement. It's like pop music in its deceptive simplicity, we all want to sing along & it seems so easy that we believe we sound amazing & could go solo or even write a pop song, but very few actually succeed in those fantasies. Rian Gonzales is cranking out hit after hit, like the technicolor Taylor Swift of the art world.
