Hueman aka Allison Tinati is a Filipina-American artist who has been crushing the art scene with her vivid, emotionally evocative murals & canvases since she graduated from UCLA's Design & Media Arts program back in 2008.
I'm celebrating my favorite Asian female artists all this month for Women's History Month, click HERE to see them all.
Hueman's unmistakable style begins with color freely smeared, splashed & sprayed to create a base, which she then adds layers with increasing detail & precision to build unforgettably poignant portraits. She seems to have taken the wild, abstract & nonrepresentative colors of Fauvism & married them to the more thoughtful, multiple perspective complexity of Cubism in order to express all the labyrinthine feels of the human condition.
Best known for her large street art murals, Hueman has worked with some of the most famous galleries & festivals including, SCOPE Miami, Pow! Wow! Hawaii, Verve & Vitality Long Beach & Supersonic Invitational @ Spoke Art.
In addition to street art & paintings for gallery shows, Hueman's unique ability to translate passionate emotional states into art has attracted several corporations to hire her for product & packaging design; companies such as, Nike, Xbox, NYX Cosmetics & The North Face. It will be interesting to see where her art takes her next, as she seems to have the world on her palette.
