   Katreeya English (แคทรียา อิงลิช) is a half Thai/half British singer, actress, model & acrobat.

   My fav Kat Lakorn (ละคร) is Faad Na Ya (แฝดนะยะ) with Por Tridsadee Sahawong (Ch.3 2010). As the title indicates, she plays twins named Bang & Baang, the girl is a tomboy who practices Muay Thai, the boy is a ladyboy who dreams of winning a beauty contest.

   It's lots of fun & adds lots of twists to the typical Lakorn plots because of the subject matter.

   Kat will be in a new Lakorn - Sao Noi Cafe. If the name sounds familiar, it's because this is a remake of an old Lakorn which Kat starred in & performed on the soundtrack.

   YaDech or YaBarry, (call them what U will) have captured the hearts & imaginations of Thai people dreaming of the perfect love.

    Thailand was first introduced to YaDech in Duang Jai Akkanee (Akkanee's Heart) part 2 of Ch3's epic 4 part Drama  4 Hua Jai Haeng Khun Khao.

   Yaya was just a teenager & the lakorn was a sweet Romeo & Juliet story. Fai's (Nadech) family had a big farm  & Jeed's (Yaya) family owned a nearby dairy farm. Jeed's father was a hothead who hated Fai's father for taking the woman he loved, Fai's mother. Jeed's brother was a wild bully always looking for trouble.

   They starred together in couple other lakorns, Game Rai Game Rak & Torranee Ni Nee Krai Krong, but couldn't really recapture the magic of Duang Jai Akkanee.

   They've been working on a new lakorn called Roy Fun Tawan Deard (รอยฝันตะวันเดือ - The Rising Sun). It is an epic 2 part historical drama set in pre-WWI Japan. Mario Maurer will star in pt 1 & 'YaBarry' in pt2.
   I believe it will air this summer on Ch 3.   (I can't wait!)

   Gybzy & Baitoey are huge pop stars in Thailand @ the moment. Gybzy is part of a girl group Girly Berry. She teamed up w/ solo artist Baitoey.

  Sexy outfits, catchy lyrics & breast-centric dances have launched the pair into the Thai stratosphere.

  Here is their latest hit Don't Cha. Notice the "nipple twist dance" in this video, every Thai pop hit needs a provocative dance move ppl can use in the clubs.

   Ploy gained most of her fans thru her roles on Thai Lakorns (ละคร = nighttime TV dramas). 

   Unlike the majority of Daras (ดารา = Thai stars) who only play Nang-ek (นางเอก = heroine), Ploy has also played her share of villains. 

   Usually Lakorns are compared to soap operas or their nighttime equivalent (Dynasty, Melrose Place, OC, etc), because of their over the top emotional confrontations & cliched plot devices (evil twins, rich vs. poor, amnesia, etc).

   However, Thai Lakorns have closed story lines & are closer to mini-series usually airing 2ice/week over 2 - 3 months.
